I’ve read some negative reviews, and I suppose that if one doesn’t approach the novel as being a fairy tale there is a fairy godmother! Feb 06, Jage rated it did not like it. I was filled with rage about Berni being sent to “The Kitchen” after death and thought there was going to be some inside joke, and that the author was wisyes a statement about women’s rights or something, but NOPE.

Make Me Love You. I loved the ending as well as the beginning, which isn’t always a given with Deveraux. This was the first romance novel I ever read and it is still my favorite in that genre. I was a bit startled to find Berni, having died in the 21st century, being sent back to the 18th to help Nellie. She’s here and poor Nellie of course always stuffs her face with every criticism her sister doles out. The adverb “softly” was used as much as the adjective “fat” to describe our “heroine” and it is frankly a mean and pathetic kude.
My mom edited all the sex scenes for me! I figured out the book within the first chapter. Jude’s early books are ddveraux largely in 15th- and 16th-century England; in them her fierce, impassioned protagonists find themselves in the midst of blood feuds and wars. Jace Montgomery was a stranger in Chandler, Colorado. Dad reveraux have lost all his money and sis should have had to take in laundry.
