Tokyo Vice is often so snappy and quotable that it sounds as if it were toko treatment for a Scorsese movie set in Queens. A Japan-changing and eye-opening book for many foreign-residents and visitors to Japan, I feel. Then I had to translate a passage on the Russian free economy from English into Japanese, followed by a brief passage on social progress in modern society from Japanese into English.
