This is a very good 7th grade reading book and I recommend this book to people that like animals. The book gives both Rick and Cracker perspective which shows both sides of the story.

They do however get in scetchy situations and even get separated for a long time, but still never loose faith and always adapt to there circumstances. Some dogs are one-man or -boy dogs and resist any new owner.
